A closer look at Dragon Armour and PROTEK
There are three materials in the universe that are the best for reflecting
temperature. The best is Gold, If you will remember back to the space
program when we were sending satellites into space and the lunar module,
they were all wrapped in gold foil. The second best material is Silver. The
next is Aluminum. The problem with the first two is the cost. The way my
PROTEK blanket is manufactured it has a proprietary means of not
transferring heat through the Aluminum so the Aluminum center core actually
reflects heat instead of transferring it through to the other side. That is
why I am able to have that high heat flame on my hand without it
transferring into my hand but reflects the heat away.
The cost of the materials are $375.00 per gallon for Dragon Armour and
$65.00 per square foot for PROTEK.
Dragon Armour is a polymer based mixture that you can brush, pour or spray on
any surface. For extreme heat you would need between .250″ to .500″
( 1/4″ to 1/2″ ) in thickness of Dragon Armour. You will see several videos in our website of Dragon Armour in action. One video showing the thickness that is less than .500″ that is coated in
cardboard shipping paper that has an Oxy-Acetylene flame of over 5,000 degrees F. and I place
my hand behind the material and the flame. Another video shows the same
material placed on the handle of a plastic spoon. Same high heat flame
( 5,000+ F ) placed on the spoon and you will see no heat transfer to melt or de-form the
spoon. Other videos showing the value of Dragon Armour’s use is in the making of fiberglass composite panels and the protection of DAX foam. Both are being used in aircraft. Panels that won’t burn through and that will still retain their structural integrity after being subjected to fire and seat foam that won’t disintegrate like untreated foam does when placed in a flame.
